USB-C is the next step forward and it is far superior to other USB forms, so it is not surprising that it has made a somewhat subtle step forward. It creates a standardized, small USB port and port that can be connected to a variety of devices.
USB - Type A has a locker design as the flat Type C, but is prepared to replace the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Companies like Apple are trying to phase out the headphone jacks because their large size makes it difficult to develop thinner smartphone designs, unlike the much larger USB-A ports. USB-C is so successful that some experts believe that it will need to be replaced with a 3-5 mm headphone jack in the next generation of smartphones and tablets.
The innovation of the USB-C design is that you no longer have to worry about orienting the cable correctly.
Lightning was released two years before USB-C, and the similarities between Lightning and USB-C are obvious. In fact, Apple's Lightning connector influenced and even contributed to the design of USB C, but that was just not good enough for me.
Apple will not replace the Lightning port with USB-C on the iPhone or iPad, and it is unlikely to even introduce it in the future, as rumors suggest. USB-C is already standard in many other devices, leaving the iPhone as the last source of power, but Apple is taking it over to allow playback of audio via standard ports.
Despite its problems, the industry is establishing USB-C as a one-stop shop for connectivity and charging. USB ports for charging, but not necessarily for charging a variety of devices , but for a single device.
Perhaps the most useful protocol that a USB-C port can support is Thunderbolt 3, but not all PC manufacturers connect to the port system's graphics hardware. The USB-C standard supports DisplayPort, which connects to a wide range of devices, from laptops and tablets to desktop and mobile devices. The USB-C port in a system may support video connection, while others may not and none can.
Currently, this includes Apple's MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. Apple is changing the plug on some of its recently released computers. Apple currently uses the Thunderbolt 3 port for its MacBook Pros and MacBooks as well as its iPad Pro.
Today, Lightning's main rival is the USB-C port, which is preferred by Android smartphones including Android and more, including the technology industry as a whole.
While the rest of the industry was still exploring USB-C, Apple recognized the benefits of reversible cables and understood the performance and speed requirements that future phones would have, while the others would not. The flash is that it's only now, six years later, and it's brought a level of convenience and versatility to the majority of Android phones and Chromebooks. Apple does use USB-C in its laptop chargers, but some say that will never come on iPhones.
It would be nice to have a cable with which all devices can be charged, but otherwise there is no advantage for Apple when iPhone users switch.
In addition, USB C supports a number of advanced features, including audio and display connectors - and playback, which are increasingly used in the industry. While it is possible to support the Lightning port and provide a single USB-C charger, consumers would be overloaded with multiple cables and adapters to perform the same functions on different devices. USB-C interface, and you get all the benefits of a standard charging interface, such as the ability to charge at any time, regardless of device type.
In an affordable and friendly version of the TS3 Plus, CalDigits USB-C Pro Dock has most of the features of its superior cousin, including 85W charging power and many ports. Apple's commitment to the Lightning plug is the biggest hurdle that remains, but not the only one.
Those who choose this product will have access to the Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 2 ports, as well as a whole range of other features. The USB-C port also allows connection to a variety of devices, such as laptops, tablets, smartphones and other portable devices.
