Chris: Hello and welcome back to The BBQ Podcast with Chris Stark and Peter Crouch. I'm Chris Stark, and with me as always is the one and only Peter Crouch.
Peter: Hello everyone, great to be here again. Another day, another barbecue, Chris.
Chris: Indeed, Peter. And speaking of barbecues, I have to tell you about the time I watched ITV Nightscreen with a barbecue at a stupid hour.
Peter: [laughing] Oh, this I have to hear. What on earth were you doing watching ITV Nightscreen at a barbecue?
Chris: Well, let me set the scene for you. It was a summer night, and I had some friends over for a barbecue. Things were going well, we were grilling up some burgers and sausages, having a few drinks. But then, as the night wore on, everyone started to leave until it was just me and one other friend left.
Peter: And what time was this exactly?
Chris: It must have been around 4 or 5 in the morning. We were sitting there, full of food and beer, and we couldn't be bothered to go to bed. So we flicked on the TV, and what was on? ITV Nightscreen.
Peter: [laughing] No way!
Chris: Yeah, we were so tired and delirious that we just sat there watching the silent screensaver for what felt like hours. It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.
Peter: That is absolutely ridiculous, Chris. But hey, sometimes those are the best memories, right?
Chris: Absolutely. It was a strange and funny night that I'll never forget.
Peter: Well, on a slightly different note, speaking of strange things, I have to mention that someone spelled my name wrong on a fan letter the other day.
Chris: That's hilarious, Peter. How did they spell it?
Peter: Well, instead of writing "Peter Crouch," they wrote "Peter Crunch."
Chris: [laughing] Peter Crunch! That's a new one.
Peter: I know, right? It's not even close to my actual name, but it did make me laugh. I guess I have a new nickname now.
Chris: Well, there you have it, folks. Peter Crunch, the footballer with a taste for barbecue and a penchant for ITV Nightscreen.
Peter: [laughing] That's me in a nutshell.
