Running a farm, working every day like a mules, without any guarantees anything will ever come from it. If you can empty your boat crossing the rivers of the world, nobody opposes you, nobody tries to hurt you. I wonder if you would take a chance on looking like a fool, for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive. I want to know if you can stand by yourself, if you really enjoy the company you keep in empty moments. I want to know what you long for, and if you would dream about meeting the desires of your heart.
I really do find small, tiny bits of information to be the ones who can hold my hyper-educated mind in total concentration. We may think that this state is ideal for the sciences, but this also means I am likely to change my mind for incorrect reasons. Something has been changed in our minds, and it changes everything.
Winter is a great time to read the classics, because your mind is so much more collected. People do not turn first to books and texts anymore. If literacy through letters changes the way we think, just imagine what Internet literacy -- and spending 10 hours every day on a screen of some sort -- is doing to our brains.
