The owner of a BBQ restaurant in Derbyshire has taken the decision to close the business. Gingerz BBQ in Chesterfield opened in November 2021 and has proved incredibly popular with locals and those further afield. The stylish American-themed venue was created to highlight the owner's love of delicious BBQ food. Boasting a giant 30oz meat challenge for the brave and succulent regular meals for everybody else, the Chatsworth Road establishment had even attracted attention from foodie YouTube stars . Located towards the top of the famous Brampton Mile, Gingerz was the brainchild of brothers Matt and Jon Evans. The former sadly died from cancer after the grand opening last year. Now, Jon has made the decision to close the restaurant but he says he is open to offers for the business. The restaurant has been a great distraction from my grief but has started to impact my life more significantly than originally intended. "It’s a very very tough industry which is not being made any easier by the rising cost of living etc and requires full focus and dedication in order for you to be successful. This is something that I am struggling to do as I have other business commitments which are running the risk of being put in jeopardy as I am spreading myself too thin. "The stress from several businesses is taking its toll on my mental health and wellbeing and beginning to affect my family life. My recent vacation has brought home to me how much time I am missing with my loved ones and I know all too well that time is very precious."
