I would love to see it as a great movie about the ups and downs of rock stardom. So to relax, it's a movie that you can get into very well, but not a great movie. It's the kind of movie that's almost made specifically to criticize him.
I hope I'm not being too hard on Rock Star because I really loved him, but not for the right reasons. While many others have enjoyed it, I suspect most of them have lived the life of a rock fan like me, or some of those who do. I loved this movie and will watch it over and over again, but I know it's purely based on my personal tastes. Rock Star is a film that will appeal to anyone who has experienced elements of rock or hard rock and wants to walk the path of nostalgia.
